ip camera support

hi all
does anyone know if these IP camera models work with zoneminder
ACTi ACM-4100 -

also if anyone know and good IP camera thats work with zoneminder please list here. i am looking for mid budget camera, somethink between $150-$250, or just above.

The ACM-1100 has been phased out. The ACM-3111 is still alive and kicking. The ACM-4100, ACM-1311 and the ACM-4200 - Megapixel (Which ipcamerasupply doesn't list...they are usually months behind) should have full MJPEG support in the next couple months. Until then they will not work with Zoneminder...unless you do a bit of hacking with ffmpeg and RTSP.

how should I connect an IP camera with capture card?

A IP cam does not typicaly use a capture card, just a network interface.

Technically you could connect an IP camera in two ways. The more professionally made have BNC output and have transcoders (ACTi does / Axis might?) that use mpeg4 compression to grab the video and dump it to a BNC adapter.
However these are neither the best and economically way to do it. If the camera is supported you can just grab the MJPEG stream and be on your way.

Axis 211 IP cameras and attach them to a network switch at my LAN and assign them IP addresses, then they are controllable with ZoneMinder?
No capture card or something extra is not needed?

yes, I believe the Axis 211's are supported in Linux. And no capture card is needed
