Trying to gauge interest in this, as it's something I'm contemplating developing for my own use and I'm trying to decide whether or not to try and write it in a sensible way that can be used by others ... or just hack something together for myself
I'm contemplating developing an iPhone-specific viewer for ZoneMinder providing live view of cameras, and a way of navigating previous events.
Is this something anyone else would have a use for?

yeah, just do it for other handsets too lol
But im sure it would be welcomed. 3gp streaming would be nice to sort too.
Good luck

The AJAX/JavaScript capabilities of Safari on the iPhone (and the fact that it supports MJPEG) is what attracted me to doing it (that and I use one!)
Wouldnt know where to start producing it for other mobile devices

For my own purposes bandwidth isn't an issue since i'll be using it over WiFi

If you can do a web app for the iPhone, I would certainly use it! So Yes Please!

I'm very interested in iPhone support now that yoics supports remote access through the iPhone. I've used it on edge with the 9100 video server and it is quite reasonable, with wifi it is perfect.
zoneminder though, doesn't work
I've found through that sequential jpg grabs with keepalive works far better than multi-part jpg push for mobile devices (in fact any case where the rx end is slower than the tx end), and I've written a player with javascript and actionscript (either will work); I also have a simple PHP player that will play zoneminder image directories to those players (though no speed control, though it could be added)
If anyone is interested in working on this I can contribute the
player code.

This sounds cool, not that I have an iPhone to try it with. Perhaps you could add something to the Wiki so people can find your efforts.

Ok, so I just got my new 3g iphone, and did my due dilligence searches on iphone on the forums. I came up with this thread, and one mentioning turning off cambozola fixing things. Neither of my servers have cambazola, but I'm not getting any images.
Is there anything else I should check?
Interestingly, the bug where clicking a monitor doesn't show the event view isn't present on the iphone. [ZM 1.2.3, I click on a monitor in firefox and there's no events list. Click on one on the iphone, and there is. Just no image.
]
Edit, 5 minutes later: Mootools uses java, duh. Disabled that and all is well. Though I want mootools. It'd be nice if ZM could turn it on for everything but iPhones.

I would definitely like to see an iPhone interface. I monitor our office, we have an alarm that SMS's me, so as soon as I get an SMS I need to login and check the cams, and default ZM interface can be a bit time consuming.
So YES PLEASE!!!

Hi, about the iPhone, you can download an application from the AppStore.
This two works perfectly : "WorldView Live" or "Webcam".
In this applications you can configure your personnal webcam.
Your enter the link from ZoneMinder like
"
http://192.168.100.102/cgi-bin/nph-zms? ... &monitor=3" (mode SINGLE is important) and set the refrech time to 1 seconde.
It's perfect

Please create an iPhone front end for ZM. I can get to the event list and see the still image of the event, but the event viewer does not show the stream.
Having the ability to view streams via my iPhone would be ideal.
Thanks in advance...

Hello,
I have an iphone, and bought Webcam off the app store, and am trying to view a monitor like clemet describes in the post above. But it's not working. Is that cgi-bin path still valid in 1.24.2 ??
I tried passing username and pass as well, and no luck. If someone that has an iphone and has been able to configure the proper URL for the Webcam app to hit a camera on ZM 1.24.2 please enlighten me!
Thank you!

Just tried the Webcam app and it seems to work ok, apart from the occasional crash.
I use authentication on my ZM and so had to send user & pass on the url (bhamilton this may apply to you).
The url I used was;
http://my.zmserver.blah:82/cgi-bin/nph- ... viewerpass
The user only has rights to stream and nothing else.
Works ok, but a native iPhone app would be great !
Andy.

This URL also seems to work. I am using Zoneminder ver 1.24.2 on Fedora 13 box. http/https is working interchangeably from standard computers, but https does not work on the iphone.
http://yourzmservername/cgi-bin/zm/nph- ... s=password
