Installed ZoneMinder on FC8 using package manager. Followed the README.fedora instructions. Edited zm.conf for user and password. Rebooted checked the services, tried to start the zoneminder service and got the following:
zoneminder failed. The error was: Use of uninitialized value in transliteration (tr///) at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/ZoneMinder/Config.pm line 82, <CONFIG> line 52.

Compilation failed in require at /usr/bin/zmupdate.pl line 48, <CONFIG> line 52.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/zmupdate.pl line 48, <CONFIG> line 52.

Where do I even start to try to fix this?

Thanks In Advance!
Henry

More information: It looks to me like the password is not set correctly somewhere. Since I didn't run the configure script how do I set the password for everything needed.
Sorry for being such a Newb, but I thought installing by using the "Package Manager" took care of most of this. If there is a better way to install please let me know. I thought about doing the ./configure but couldn't even find the right place to run it!

TIA,
Henry

I got it to start. I had to go in and run the commands to create teh database a litle different. so now I don't get all those perl errors. Now I just can't get the tabs in the "add monitor" dialog to work. When I click on one of them it comes up with a blank page.
