No image or streaming

Hi!
I've installed zoneminder from the .deb package and the whole installation process seemed to be ok.
I could also add my logitech webcam for notebooks deluxe as a monitor and the record turned orange in the list.
However when I set it as "monitor" and click on it all I get is either a black screen (if i select mpeg in options) or a broken image link.

Moreover if i select mocord (or something like that- can't figure out now which one it was) the camera actually records sequences of images and saves them in the events folder. But i still don't see them on the webpage.

Could anyone help me with that, pleaseeee!!!

(At the moment I have to rely on webcam-server, which doesn't use authentication and cannot be accessed from a mobile phone)
