Does Zoneminder work on X-WRT on an ASUS WL 500g Premium?

Does Zoneminder work on X-WRT on an ASUS WL 500g Premium?

Post by miguipda »

Hi,

I have an ASUS WL500g Premium router I thing to flash the firmware to X-WRT and after that using Zoneminder.

Can somebody tell me if Zoneminder works well on the X-WRT ?
Is it something special to know for config/settings/installation ?

Sincerely thanks and have a nice day.

No, ZM does not. It requires much more processor than is available in those devices.

I am running zoneminder on some surprisingly low CPU devices, however, not that low. And performance is poor. The weakest system I have it working successfully on is a P3 866 with 256 meg of rdram. It is a 4 port single chip system. I get about 1-2 fps, and stream about 1fp2s.

I have one of these running PacketProtector. It has a 266MHz CPU, 32MB of RAM, 8MB flash memory and 2 usb ports. (There are other 2 inside, which can be reached with a little soldering 8) )

I doubt it could run ZoneMinder, but it can act as an IP camera with a USB Webcamera plugged in, which ZM can happily accept
