hardware compression card

Hi guys,
I need to install a 4 analog (they're already deployed) cameras monitoring system I was thinking to use an hardware H264 compression card to lower the system load (the system should be up 24/7 and since it monitors crowded rooms, it will probably record from the 4 cameras at the same time). Does anybody have experience with hardware compression dvr cards and zone minder?
I was thinking to buy this one:

but if you have other suggestions...
thanks!

It does not work at all. ZM needs the uncompressed frame for motion detection.

I see. My problem is that I would need to capture smooth videos, so staying close to 25fps per channel would be very good. My hw is only a P4 1.5Ghz with 320GB (raid 0, a good 3ware card, not a fake raid) and 1GB ram. Even if I buy a real 120fps card, I don't think I would be able to record at full frame rate on each channel....So my only chance is to increase the hw?What would you suggest?
thanks!

I have had 4 ports get 20-30 fps on hardware worse than that. But bump the ram if you can.
