OK this is kinda of a worst case machine. Its a home built P-4 1.3 GHz computor with 1 gig RAM. I bought a 240 fps card from AsianWolf and got so sick of their DVR ap that I put Hardy Heron and ZM in. (Hardy Heron..whats next? Horney Beaver?)
Anyway I had to do some things to make this work.
1)I had to put a file called SAA7134 in /etc/modprobe.d
options saa7134 card = 72,72,72,72,72,72,72,72 Tuner=4
blacklist saa7134_alsa (keeps the sound driver off the video cards)
2) I followed the Ubuntu 7.04 instructions posted here in the forums and downloaded 1.23.3 from Northern Ridge.
3) Since I used 72 in modprobe I had to specify /dev/video0-7 in the source box and use device channel 2.
I tried a lot of other modprobe configs including 33 and 72 was the first that worked. After about 8 hours of beating on this I stuck with what worked. So far I am catching motion events and web access is working. I'll let it stew overnight and see if its still cooking in the AM.
1.23.3 running on Kubuntu desktop with 8 chip Saa7130
