I have problems with geting my system to work running from liveCD. It works under XP and Pico2000. A stand alone system.
It is a P4 with too 4 chanel PCI PAL camera card, and 4 cameras connected to one card. (The other card has no cameras at the moment.)
Onboard grafikcard SIS650.
ZM dont display any cameras.
Using xawtv results in a window showing a picture that looks like a CRT-monitor running on the wrong refrechment freq. It is only the signal from one camera that is beeing pickt up.
dmesg:
bttv: Bt8xx card found (0)
bttv0: i2c: checking for MSP 34 xx @ 0x80 .. not found
I sopose this means that something is not working.
Please, before telling me that I supplied to litle information:
1. How do I (mount?) acess my floppy drive (or USB).
2. How do I pipeline the shell output to a text file on a floppy (or USB).
3. Is there an copy/paste capable editor on the liveCD (In case of running on a computer connected to internet).

There is vim if your running headless or gvim I think in the desktop menu.
otherwise you can use putty on winblows to ssh into the box running live CD.
Also the dmesg is only a small piece, run "dmesg |grep bttv" with out the quotes of coarse.

Well, to me this is swahili soo I hope some one can give me a pice of advice.
P.S.
Any solution why some shell comands returns an empty file?
Mounting via konqueror does not work, but doing it the hard way does.
And then the floppy showes up in konqueror.

I have done some more checking.
There are video, video0 and video1 in /dev . There are not different chanels.
If i´m not misstaking, i need to sett this card manually to 77, but I dont find how to do this exactly.
It would be a great help to get the exact comands with parameters and in the correct order.
There is alot of talking about modprobe, rmmod and insmod in older post, but it doesent help me since I'm complite beginner in administrating a Linux system.
P.S.
I have tried rmmod bt878 , whitch is denied.
And I tried rmmod bttv, whitch is denied because of bt878.
Soo I'm stuck.
