Problems with modect because of heavy load?

Hi,
I've installed zoneminder 1.23.2 for a month and it works quite well. I've connected four IP cams which results in heavy load on the P4-2.66.
The only thing where I'm unsatisfied with is modect. Although there still is a person in the view, zoneminder closes the picture and goes on a minute later when this person is leaving.
I don't know if this is because of the poor quality of the motion detection (as it is already mentioned a view threads away) or if it's because of the heavy load on my machine which is nearly around 100% all the time.
