Hi,
My ZM doesnt't send alarm messages via SMTP. Tcpdump shows it doesn't even try to contact the SMTP server. The logs contain no informatinon - the only suspicious message is the following (at ZM start? in zmdc.log):
'zmfilter.pl -m 1 -e -1' started at 04/01/27 16:07:40
v-string in use/require non-portable at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/MIME/Field/ParamVal.pm line 65.
'zmaudit.pl -d 900 -y' starting at 04/01/27 16:07:40, pid = 3098

What shoud I check or how can I debug?

Hi Alexander,

Have you filled in the email details in the 'Options' area and also defined a filter for each monitor you want emails from?

If so then check zmfilter-<n>.log to see if it's trying to send. I'm not sure what the error you are getting is related to but it doesn't seem to be fatal.
