Feature bounties: Motion detection training-feature.

Post by qriff »

How much would people be ready to pay as a collective bounty for a motion detection training-feature?

Alternatively heavy improvements and setting-profiles regarding motion detection.

Why? Priority. Because all other aspects of the project are closely related to the operating system and therefore solvable by other resources.

Why? Pitch. That is the first and only feature any working installation will be evaluated on. It is the only feature to only be solved with special knowledge/experience, regarding video motion detection.

Why? Because configuration variation/dependency of imaging-hardware: resolution, enviroment changes (seasons, temperature), performance-sensitivity, refresh-rate and others.

How? Either someone names a price for a certain level of feature-completion. Or people make a blind donation to the main developer that regularly announces the standing bounty for a complete feature until it gets collected.

Also. Remote testing/development installations with (un)limited access in regard with the development needs.

I don't know about all that, but I'm still firmly of the opinion that Axis and probably some other vendors should toss some money at Phil, at least hire him part time. I sent them an email to that regard ages ago, never heard back from them. They have their own recording app that they sell, but with full support from Axis for ZM they'd have 206's and 207's flying off the shelves, among others.

to be fair the 20x are fairly well supported anyway.

I wouldnt mind contributing to the training idea.

Hi.

IMHO, there are already 2 good directions which could be reused:

1) Continuing the work on Mor's analyzer (optimizing it etc...).
2) Adapting Motion analyzer.

These both has self-training features AFAIK, so the overall work won't be as necessary as large.

ACTi hasn't thrown money at Phil but they have provided some instructions and API's which has helped him get started. We sent him two ACTi network cameras and hopefully support for some ACTi cameras will roll out soon.
