I have just run the Zoneminder LiveCD Install and am having problems starting Zoneminder and Webmin. This is my second Zoneminder system, the first installed and run beautifully for atleast 12 months.
I have run the installation twice to make sure it wasn't a broken installation but have had the same results twice. Apache is running as i can see the ZM console but clicking on the stopped link and selecting start doesn't start it. I tried starting it through the shell but received and error message. I finally managed to start it logging on to KDE as root and starting it through the ZM console as above. I have never had this much trouble starting ZM and was wondering if anyone has had this problem or can share any ideas with me.
Also i am having trouble starting Webmin. I know this isn't a ZM problem as such and i have tried sourcing information from other forums regarding this problem but seeing as though i am using the Live CD install i thought the question should still be relevent in this forum. I have tried starting Webmin through the shell as instructed at the bottom of the ZM welcome page but i get a 'failed' message. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but get the same message. I also downloaded the latest version and installing that through shell and it says that it is successfully installed but still will not start.
The system i am running ZM on is a proprietary Acer desktop 1.6Ghz running 1Gb RAM and a BT878 4ch capture card.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thankyou

im fairly sure that both the new live cd's of ross's are 1.23 based
Might be worth downloading the newer ones, as i reakon you have an old one. I personally use the mandriva based one as i have had issues with some gfx hardware with the pclos one, and never had an issue apart from hostname issues when setting up sshd.

Installation went ok. Still same trouble as before, cant start ZM from local browser, remote browser or shell. tried restarting from shell and got
Just found out something. I can start ZM BUT only if i log on as root. ZM is running when i open ZM console and i can stop/start with no problem. I can also stop/start through remote browser ONLY when ZM server is logged on as root.
