Hi!

We've got here a server with two Xeon processor (1.8Ghz) and a problem is to connect 20 cameras to it.
I guess such a server won't be able to process (motion detection&capturing) more than 100 fps; so desirable maximum fps per camera should be about 4 (2 if every camera is alarmed).
The best solution so far posted in this forum (I suppose) is using ituner spectra8 cards (two cards with 8 inputs and 1 card with with four inputs); yet they provide 12 fps per channel which is more than necessary (and thus more expensive)

Can anyone suggest a better solution?

And another interesting point, what's the greates number of cameras one have ever connected to ZM machine?

With best regards, Alexander.

Just wondering if anyone got around to figuring the question out... I'm planning to use network cameras (Axis, Pixord etc) exclusively for my installations, and I'm trying to figure out some numbers.

Q: What is the maximum number of cameras you've been able hook up to the system? Anyone?
