I was wondering why type of concrete/masonry anchors are used/recommended for commercial applications. Do you guys all just use concrete screws or some other forum of anchor? Anyone know if there are building codes that must be met for these types of mounting methods?

Codes vary by location, so check your local city code office. But in most cases I use an adhesive (like liquid nail) to mount a small wood block to the wall. Nice mounting surface, and will work if the user decides to change cameras later.

You may also be surprised to find out how vague the word "concrete" is. My building has a variety of surfaces, many of them "concrete", and we've had to use a variety of solutions. Thank god I have a maintenance department with years of experience in such things, and they are even confounded occasionally once they start attempting one method.
Word of advice, if you use a hammer drill at any point, wear goggles with lots of coverage, the amount of dust that comes out is amazing.

Thanks for the help. I'll get my local building codes from the city.
