Can't get video to show in ZM

Post by Eclipx »

So far I have installed zoneminder without incident and have it running prefectly. I am trying to use a Happauge HVR-950's composite input to capture video from an analog camera. The card is recognized in Ubuntu 8.10 correctly and I can see the video in xawtv by choosing NTSC and Composite in the settings. I have tried setting zm to Monitor /dev/video (0-3) and /dev/vbi (0-3), with no success. What should I do next to try and get it working?

Try fixing the permissions of the video device files, something like:

sudo chmod 777 /dev/video2

Well, I already added www-data to the video group with the proper perms but I gave that a shot anyway, and i still only get a black image. I have found the feed is on /dev/video0 and set it to Modect, but still no luck.

What should I try next, and what should my Monitor settings look like (anything I could be missing besides location/region).
