All,
There are many camera combinations available and no single review or comparison website to help choose one for motion detection so I thought it would be useful for ZM users to post sample images (removing any personal identification such as number plates or house numbers!). Plus post the ZM monitor config for each camera. If this is useful perhaps it could feature in the Wiki in a table?
I'll start the ball rolling - here is an example of my Logitech Quickcam Pro Notebook usb 2.0 camera pointing through a double-glazed window (OK not ideal!). It has autofocus - suffers from some motion blur but you can make out good detail including vehicle registration plates. Unfortunately due to it being a newer webcam I have to use mjpeg_streamer (640x480 / 15fps) since ZM doesn't natively support it (i.e. vlc2).
In ZM I set the monitor
(General tab) Max 10fps, Alarm 10fps, 10% reference
(Source tab) Remote, 640x480, 24bit color;
(Buffers tab) Image buffer 40, Warmup 25, Pre 10, Post 10, Alarm Frame Count 5
This does seemingly result in a small jump in capture and changing light/shadows can trigger alarms.
I would be particularly interested in anyone who has got gphoto2 and a Canon Powershot to work as this config will offer really high quality images.
Anyway hope this posting helps. ZM is a great product - thanks!
Best regards
Ian
