X10 Security Cameras?

I'm looking to get into home surveillance, especially with the prevalence of knock-knock-zoom-zoom in my neighborhood.

I was looking at the X10 cameras (ex., http://www.x10.com/promotions/xx13a_law ... urst2.html) and in addition to fleshy pictures they also have some of the lowest prices on camera setups that I could find. They don't appear on the hardware compatibility list though.

Has anyone tried working with these cameras? Are they junk? (kinda looks like they might be) And if they are junk does anyone know how I might get a ZM compatible setup for recording outdoor and after dark for around $300 or so? Two cameras should provide sufficient coverage.

Thanks in advance,
Mat

I just got rid of my x10 cameras.. firstly you would need 2 receivers. 1 on each camera so you can see then both at the same time. secondly, a capture card.

for the money you are saying you could get 2 semi decent day night cams from eBay.

Do yourself a favor... stay away from the x10 cams, after a few days you`ll be disappointed.

Thanks for saving me the trouble, TrOjAn. I'll see what I can dig up on eBay.
