Sorry if this has been asked before but I don't find the info I'm after. Here it goes:

Is it nessesary to have shared memory if I have 4GB on my comp? Ubuntu 8.10 64bit.

I have this hardware to play around with:
Sony CCD IP-66
and this card
PCI 4 channel 25fps BT878

Yes since ZM uses shared memory.
