I have install Ubuntu Intrepid and Zoneminder 1.23X. I have setup all of the all of the cameras and every time I try and run the cameras is cycle or montage mode I get no picture and I see a little emblem that resembles a broken connection. I checked /var/log/apache2/error.log and I can see that that there is an error with finding /htdocs

[Tue Jan 13 15:08:30 2009] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /htdocs, referer: http://localhost:12444/zm/index.php?vie ... ode=stream

I cannot find the location of where /htdocs is located. Can someone help?

problem solved. It turned out to be an configuration issue with apache and the virtualhosts. I had changed the listening port 80 to 12444 in apache2.conf and also needed to do so under the /etc/apache2/site-enabled/000-default{virtualhost}. After that is all work fine.

Just a question..

I have the same config as you (zm 1.23.3 in ubuntu intrepid) but I can get any image from the webcam on my acer asipre notebook. It works fine with xawtv but the source in the control page is in red and no image sended...

Can you tell me the step you followed (if diferent as in the zm doc) ? In my zmdc.log I get error message from zmc (zmc -d /dev/video0' starting at 09/01/15 20:15:21, pid = 30192) and zma ('zma -m 1' exited abnormally, exit status 255]).

Any help would be apreciated.

TIA,

blas

I sorry that I didnt reply sooner. I would start by checking your /var/log/apache2/error.log. If things are working fine when testing with xawtv then it is most likely a configuration issue under your camera configuration section in zoneminder? What is your output of zmu -d /dev/video0 -q. From your results you should be able to see what is the maximum resolution to you cameras, whether or not to use PAL or NTSC, what channels do what(svideo, composite, tv and etc.) Please post your results zmu? I am sure we can figure it out.

I know.. but I'm getting tired.. I've tried everything that I know and zm still refuses to work and it seems nobody knows why :)

and btw.. zmu doesn't output anything if you get "exited abnormally, exit status 255"

That sounds like either a permission issue or a problem video driver, but we should not be hijacking someone else's thread.

Your card may be misdetected. Can you get a picture with xawtv? If not, you will need to manually configure your card. Post a new thread with a picture of your card and the output of "lspci" and we can help.

I think the setting detected has wrong, because channel 0 appear as type 1 - TV, see this:

Channel 0 Attributes
Name: Television
Channel: 0
Flags: 3
Channel has a tuner
Channel has audio
Type: 1 - TV
Format: 0 - PAL
