Hi,

I have a Creative Webcam Live! which works fine with xawtv but gives me only black frames with zoneminder. The driver is the latest gspcav1.

When I click on the monitor I see no image (not event a black one) and it says IDLE 0.0fps but when it creates events it makes black frames with the timestamp on it. I can see no errors in log files. /var/log/messages says it's capturing at 23.89fps.

information like distro would be nice but anyways

did you set your shared memory setting?
if so go look at the logs(location is listed in zoneminder config).

sorry for the lack of information.

ZM_VERSION=1.23.3
Linux goa 2.6.22-gentoo-r5 #13 PREEMPT
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 041e:4036 Creative Technology, Ltd Webcam Live!/Live! Pro

I had problems with shared memory but I fixed them.
linux # ipcs -m

The second one is zoneminder's.

What is strang is that I can save videos/stills from the webcam using xawtv and streamer.

Why would zoneminder see those as black frames then ? I don't understand

It now works... I have upgraded to the latest 1.24 release and that fixed it.
