I've got lots of problems compiling zm from source....
Is there somewhere a deb package?

No deb package yet but plenty of options on live cd's or dvd's that could get you up and running.

zoneminder live cd/dvd are very usefull...
but I think there should be a place, on this site, with a link to these distributions so people can find them easily
