I use zoneminder on client that need to only record videos, but when a client need to see in real time zoneminder is not a reliable solution . In this case i need to back to sux windows installation.
The problem is that zm write in jpeg file not in avi, asf, mpeg video and the stream need to wait while the write process of images occur. The delay showed in this is situation is proportional that the time that zm monitor are opened. The biggest problem is while using ptz cam, to move up or down and have delay in image, the user dont accept this solution.
Other problem on write jpeg files versus video stream is the size of videos an the io needed on the disk.
Does zm group think to create a zm version that not store jpeg files, or solve the problem of delay on zm?
ps. Windows solutions is sux, i didn't like to support this anymore, i'd like zm.
Real time stream
AVI is not an acceptable solution, mpg is a very lossy format and in some areas is not accepted as evidence as I have been told. The delay is more likely the player you are using as most tend to buffer the stream for at least five seconds, M$ Mediaplayer does almost 10 seconds. Try cambozola as it don't buffer or if client is Firefox is receives mjpeg streams native.
reducing the max frame, and showing with swf have significant quality..desconsider this topic..cordel wrote:AVI is not an acceptable solution, mpg is a very lossy format and in some areas is not accepted as evidence as I have been told.
