320x240 vs 640x480 - interlacing @ 640x480 -card or setting?

I am using a PV-183-8 capture card from bluecherry...
Running at 640x480 I get motion blur or interlacing I guess...
See:

At 320x240 the blur is gone but the images are a bit too small for my liking. See:

Now... is the blur @ 640x480 a card issue or what? I had a cheap standalone dvr with the same cameras prior to switching to zoneminder and the pv-183 card and did not get motion blue at 640x480 (well.. rarely but only if a car as moving VERY fast)

My load adverage is staying 0.20 or less so I'm almost sure it's gotta be the card or a zoneminder setting I don't have set correctly... any settings I should check?? Do I need a better card??

I'd rather leave it at 320x240 and get clear images than have bigger distorted ones but I'd really like to have clear images at 640x480 if possible... Thanks in advance for any help...

This is a limit one the NTSC, PAL, SECAM standard. Interlacing that is not normally seen in an analog world is very pronounced in a digital image specially when captured as a snapshot. There is not anything you can do to really improve it.

Interlacing is a problem indeed. You can however set your monitors to half PAL (384x288) instead of half NTSC (320x240).

Remember to restart Zoneminder after changing resolutions.
