How to set up ZM for video server

Hi !
I'm bit new to this ZM.
I installed ZM 1.22.2 from the LiveCD. I want to connect to a Vivotek 2304 video sever with 4 cameras. The ZM console seemed pretty straightforward and I put the source type as "remote" and the source as the IP of the server, port 80. I dont see any place to define the video channel. Ayway, when opening the monitor on the console page, it just shows a box where the image should be. (I see the location of this image is
http://localhost/cgi-bin/nhn-zms?)
This Vivotek server needs a string to get the image ( in this case: http://<ipaddress>/cgi-bin/video.jpg?cam=1&quality=5&size=3). If I stick this string straight into the browser (Firefox) the correct image comes through ok.
I get the impression that that somehow there is path or something incorrect.
Any comments / ideas / questions will be appreciated.
Rgds

Remote Host IP: aaa.bbb.ccc.xxx
Remote Host port: 80
Remote Host Path: /cgi-bin/video.jpg?cam=1&quality=5&size=3
Image size and palette must be set to the same as the camera is sending.

Ok thanks. I think this part is working now since I can see comms active on the video server.
In the mean time I have also upgraded to ZM 1.23.3...
Anyway all is not cool yet. It seems there is a problem with java plugins on the brower:
When trying to open a monitor now, to view the video, it complains about not being able to find missing plugin application/x-java-vm
I managed to download and extract the Java libraries and stuff and linked it as per the instructions posted on the website, but still no go. When I look at about:plugins, it seemed nothing has changed form before.
On top of this, I notice something else which may be related: When I run the software manager it comes up with :
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To satisfy dependencies, the following package(s) also need
to be installed:
libmozilla-firefox2.0.0.11-2.0.0.11-1.1mdv2007.0
myspell-en_GB-1.0.2-0.20040208.9mdk
myspell-en_US-1.0.2-0.20040623.9mdk
mysql-client-5.0.45-8.1mdv2007.0
mysql-common-5.0.45-8.1mdv2007.0
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
However, when told to install:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry, the following package(s) can't be selected:
libmysql15-devel-5.0.24a-2.3mdv2007.0.i586 (due to unsatisfied libmysql15[== 5.0.24a-2.3mdv2007.0])
MySQL-client-5.0.24a-2.3mdv2007.0.i586 (due to unsatisfied libmysql15[== 5.0.24a-2.3mdv2007.0])
MySQL-common-5.0.24a-2.3mdv2007.0.i586 (due to missing MySQL-client-5.0.24a-2.3mdv2007.0.i586)
MySQL-Max-5.0.24a-2.3mdv2007.0.i586 (due to unsatisfied MySQL-client[*][== 5.0.24a-2.3mdv2007.0])
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure if that is why Firefox complains about plugins ????
Any ideas ???

There is really nothing in this version of ZM that requires any java vm unless you have added cambozola you should not need it.
As far as the packages go, sounds like the distro you are using has something buggered, you can try setting a force flag, beyond that I don't know off hand.

Hi Cordel and thanx for comments so far. I did fresh installation on another machine. My situation is now that I dont get complaint about plugins anymore, but also no video being displayed - only a white box where the image should be.
I can still see comms activity, and when I open the server directly with Firefox I can see video.
Any ideas ?
