Support for multiple usb webcams

Anything you want added or changed in future versions of ZoneMinder? Post here and there's a chance it will get in! Search to make sure it hasn't already been requested.

Ive been trying to use more than 1 usb webcam but i came to the conclusion it cannot be done. That would be a great feature.
If you can do it right now pelase tell me how. i am running ubuntu 8.04 with zoneminder 1.22.3

You can run more than a cam for sure. Did you set the shared memory bigger? Check you logs then ask for help.

Check your driver, check the other post.
ZM can take any local video device available through the V4L driver. It's not a ZM limitation.

It seems that my webcam cannot work currently with ZM as I get the following message to a zmy request :

"Error, failed to query crop: /dev/video0: Invalid argument" from zmu -q -v.


I just stopped trying to use my webcam until a bug is corrected according to the following post :

once / if your webcam works with your distro then it will work with zm. I do remeber issues with multiple cams per usb bus, but again that is a driver / linux issue not a zm one.
