1.24.1, 8.0.4.2, latest ffmpeg, all from svn, missing fields

Post by coke »

So I took the plunge, uninstalled from source my previous ffmpeg and zoneminder installations, went through the process of getting fresh versions from SVN, etc., had --enable-mmap and I thought everything was working once it started, but it won't get past starting.

Did a fresh stop, deleted logs, started again, here's the heads.

zmwatch.log

Code: Select all

 head -10 zmwatch.log

zmdc.log

One of the debug logs, there's several with essentially the same information.

Code: Select all

cat zm_debug.log.08488
05/21/09 14:21:42.037199 zma_m16[8488].INF-zm_debug.c/292 [New Debug Level = 4, New Debug Log = /tmp/zm_debug.log.08488]

Grepping the debug logs shows they all contain the unknown column Protocol.

Where did I go wrong, and how can I fix it?

Checked the setup on the cameras, it switched from my previous Axis presets to RTSP's, tried to reset one from a preset and got this:

Code: Select all

grep DB408B *
error.log:[Thu May 21 14:28:32 2009] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] SQL-ERROR(DB408B): select Type, Device, Channel, Format, Protocol, Method, Host, Port, Path, SubPath, Width, Height, Palette, MaxFPS, Controllable, ControlId, ControlDevice, ControlAddress, DefaultRate, DefaultScale from MonitorPresets where Id = '13', referer: http://127.0.0.1/index.php?view=monitorpreset&mid=1

Just a guess......but did you trash the old database and import the new 1.24.? database? The column error is bothersome

No, I was kinda hoping it'd update the database tables for me, so I wouldn't lose all my camera configurations. Is there an easy way to trash/recreate them without losing configurations? I can reconfigure them all if I have to, just doesn't feel right.

Did you run zmupdate.pl on your database to upgrade it to the 1.24x structure?

If you haven't already, backup your database and call

Code: Select all

zmupdate.pl -version=<from version> [--user=<database user> --pass=<database password>]
Use a database username & password with write and alter permissions to your ZM database.

If you did call zmupdate.pl already, I say give it another try on a backup of your database before the ZM upgrade.

That seems to have done the trick. I hadn't called it already, missed that step. Had to do some jiggling around, as I'd started to manually update the tables based on another 1.24.1 machine with the intent of re-inserting the data, but your route was just a tad easier. :)

Now I just need to get it to show me pictures again. :)
