I have been running a openSUSE 11.0 system with ZM 1.23 and any time it reboots, I have to go to Yast and reset the TVcard (kodicom). Otherwise I get no /dev/video devices.
On a new system, a tri-core AMD, with openSUSE 11.1 and ZM 1.24 gives me the same results. Both ZM systems were installed using the repository at liquid.de (see Wiki).
Back prior to v4l, I could change modprobe.conf and have no problem, but v4l does not even read modprobe.conf, and man page for v4l refers to xorg.conf. Sorry, but I'm not going to manually change that - my changes would be wiped out with any change in the monitor which has to happen when I move from the workbench to the production site, and fixing X problems has proven to be an absolute nightmare.
Should I go to Novell bugzilla and report this as a bug, or does someone have a solution?
v4l and kodacom 4400
