I found a couple threads where people spoke of the EasyCap USB. On DealTime you can pick them up for around $12:

There were a couple projects I found where people were getting them to work with Linux:
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php? ... _id=616182
and

Has anyone got one of these to work with Zoneminder? I have a box with one PCI-X slot and was trying to avoid purchasing an 8 channel card to add some more cameras.

Your kind of on your own with that hardware but it looks like you might have a shot
I compiled the patched drivers for stk1160 4 CH and they works with program that are able to set or switch between the four channels, like xawtv, zoneminder, etc. ...

I would be interested to see if theses work. It would be great with the modified routers.
I would say try it $12 buck is cheap for hardware post back if you do go with it.
also if you can check for conflicts by puging in 2 of them.

Shoot, at $12 it's worth a try. I'd be interested as well to see how well they work. I'm looking at a few setups with 16 channels and this would be great over using a couple 8 port cards. Slap a 4 port hub on a computer, maybe inside even, and run the video cables.

Google for Easycap DC60, Easycap DC60++ or XP STK1150.
For example

I've recently uploaded version 0.8.3 of the Linux device driver for the EasyCAP DC60:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/easycapdc60/
With two inputs on a single 4-CVBS EasyCAP I am seeing about 1 frame per second for each input in the ZoneMinder console.
