product manuals can be found here
http://www.swann.com.au/s/techcenter/pr ... &submit=go
i did have to use internet explorer to view it as it doesnt seem to work under firefox (fire fox cant seem to handle active x)
as always all help appreciated given the amount of money i paid for this camera im guessing its gonna be the bees knees when configured

It looks like a decent camera but at $100 compared to some of the $1000-2000 cameras its not the end all be all. You have to keep in mind ZM is a free community and a lot of it is about helping others if you want help, and contributing back. Feel free to also post the camera publicly and you may get more response but not too many users are going to dig into the documentation on your camera to get it working for you with the amount you have provided.

well i payed £137 for it that near on $200 so i expected it to be the bees knees, i cant share the ip for it as we are in the middle of a heat wave here and when im not at work im not exactly dressed for company (and no one wants to see that ! lol)
i have managed to get its internal motion detection enabled and get it emailing
i may just have to get hold of the author of the g1 app and say "what url do you use to access the swann camera please" and hope for a reply
as for the lack of responses it was extremely frustrating when i couldnt get the camera to work right (spent 2 days were all my free time was googleing and talking to swann customer support and my isp tech support, i wasnt just sitting back waiting for you guys to fix it for me,but im sure some of you have similier activex cameras) i also have a thread where im asking how to make a irlight source that no one is replying to so im guessing that not many people like to help

The active x cams are tricky and most of the time cant be used because you need acces to a jpeg or a standard stream to make zm work.

I would say this is partially true, activeX is generally used to do decoding but frequently these cameras will be delivering the feed to the activeX component as MPEG4 or MJPEG (a packet capture util can help to sniff what the activeX component is doing). They can frequently be malformed streams but generally the camera isn't using an inhouse video format.

Is it too late to return it? That's not a fortune by IP cam standards. If possible, chuck it and get an Axis 207 for roughly $270 usd, which'll work perfectly with ZoneMinder, have better resolution (swann says 640x480, but it also says 240 tv lines), etc.
