you only need to worry when it sits at 100% cpu usage for like 20min if it just peaks to 100% its fine

Actually, run top, see what you have in waitng verses what your proc load is. Just running the load numbers up don't really tune the system for optimum use, You have to consider the IO bottle necks as well.
