Bluecherry PV155 and only one camera at a time!

Just got off the support chat with Bluecherry, problem not solved.
I have CentOS 5.3 and ZoneMinder 1.24.2
ZM seems to be properly installed and the console works locally and remotely. When I have just one camera (monitor) installed it looks great and everything is fine. But one camera is hardly useful. After installing a second camera (monitor) I get only the first camera's view or a flash of rames from one camera to the next. This is when you click on the name of the camera (monitor) from the console window.
I have tried the following and restarted ZM each time;
options bttv card= 77,77,77,77 or 98,98,98,98 (it's just the brand right?)
under options>config changed the frame capture setting from 1 to 2
toggled the buffer setting on and/or off in conjunction with the 1 or 2 above
I am so frustrated with all this at this point after trying to use ZM for over 2 months now.
I know it must be something simple but what?
There are other issues with regard to using FF3.5 remotely and the way changes are propagated but those can wait I want to hook up some cameras to this puppy!!!!!!!!!!

One step forward 2 steps back we do a little jiggy and then f**kin break something.

anyone????

I have a PV-155 and I use "options bttv card=77,77,77,77".

Make sure that the V4L_MULTI_BUFFER option is unchecked. You can find V4L_MULTI_BUFFER in the 'Config' tab under settings.

Make sure you restart zoneminder by clicking on the "Running" in the Zoneminder Console page and select "Restart" in the drop down box and press the "Apply" button.

Thanks for the reply Tim,
I have already done just exactly as you say. Except I had the CAPTURES_PER_FRAME set to 2 as per bluecherry.
I'll go back and make double darn sure it is set this way and report back though.

Does it matter if I use V4L1 or V4L2 with the PV155?

Most likely you can use either V4L1 and V4L2. I use V4L1 on my Ubuntu 8.10 server box (Kernel 2.6.27). V4L2 worked for me to, I just needed to go through the different capture palettes to find the correct one.

If you're CentOS is using kernel 2.6.25, then you might need to use V4L2. That kernel that had problems when using BT878 chips (which the PV-155 uses) and V4L1. Here is a forum post about the problem http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11681.

Same problem

Did you guys ever find a fix for this? I am also running CentOS 5.3 with the PV-155 and I have tried all of the fixes mentioned ie unchecking the V4L_MULTI_BUFFER, Modprob with 77,77,77,77 and 98 checked shared mem etc. only difference I also noticed was that only video0 channels0-3 seem to work one at a time video1,2,3 on all channels get nothing. Any advice would be hugely appreciated!
