Hi,
i am a beginner. i downloaded this version of ZoneMinder (tar.gz) but i don't know how to install. So i tried to install it from "synaptics", but a message tell me that 2 data are missing (404 file not found).
1)So, how can i do?
2)After installing it, where will i find the software? (office, internet, accessories)? i read somewhere that ZoneMinder works in Mozilla as a WebPage! is it true?
Thank you, sorry for the stupid question but i am a beginner.

Optionally if you wanted to install Zoneminder 1.24 you can add this repository:
deb
http://zoneminder.bluecherry.net jaunty main
to: /etc/apt/sources.list
then run:
sudo apt-get update ; sudo apt-get install zoneminder

when i try to modify this file with the Console, it answers to me ACCESS DENIED, so i tried to log as SuperUser (su), write the password, but still it answers BASH .. ACCESS DENIED

You can add it in synaptic if in Synaptic to goto:
Settings -> Repository -> Third-Party -> Add:
deb
http://zoneminder.bluecherry.net jaunty main
Add Source
Then reload and search for zoneminder

It sounds like you have some system problems. The synaptic error should not happen. And with sudo, you should be able to modify sources.
What system are you running? (Jaunty? Edgy? What?)
What have you changed?
