Compiling under OSX

Sorry to probably re-hash this but I'm having trouble determining if ZM will compile under OSX. I've run the configure script but it's failing to find libmysqlclient.a which is installed via MacPorts. I tried using the --with-mysql=/opt/local switch but no joy. I think it may be because MacPorts puts things under mysql5 directory names (vs. mysql without the "5").

But I don't want to waste any more time on this if this is indeed a dead end road on OSX. Thanks in advance.
