I need some help setting up several 6620's and 3410's on an Ubuntu 9.04 box. Ubuntu is running as a VM on an ESX Server so i'm not sure if there would be an issue there. I have tried several different variations of settings on the 6620 especially since there is a guide on this forum for the 6620g i didn't think much would be different.
Remote Host Name admin:password@192.168.0.10
Remote Host Port 80
Remote Host Path /cgi-bin/video.jpg
Remote Image Colours 24bit
Capture Width 352
Capture Height 240
Orientation Normal
i have also tried mpeg using the /video.cgi and several others and keep getting a black image
i'm not sure how to actually put MY password in since it wont let me replace :password with my own. It says no need to put http: or something
i have tried several settings on the 3410 as well with no luck
using v1.23.3

ok so i found that using a password on the camera like !!AaBb12 will not work.. when i configure the camera's host in ZM admin:!!AaBb12@192.168.0.10 it says it's not a valid host... but when i changed the camera password to "password" it works fine admin:password@192.168.0.10
so what characters are not allowed and why?

ok.. so.. i have both of my cameras working although i'm having issues with the 6620 jpg stream... when viewing the stream or playback in firefox or IE the 6620 will provide decent fps for around 6-7 seconds then pauses for around 5 seconds then repeats this cycle. The 3410 on the otherhand provides a constant 15fps stream. I have tried changing some of the buffer values with no change, can anyone help?
btw.. would still like to know about the password issue in my last post

Hey Drew if possible could you prehaps post the configuration you used to get your 3410 camera to actually show a picture. All I can is a black screen and it is driving me nuts.

Guys....same issue with the 3410...tried the path in the hardware compatibility page....\video\mpjg.cgi or some variation of \video\mjpg.cgi?profile=x where x is 1....4 and no luck. Any help on appropriate path and auth settings would be great.
Thanks,
JJ

Sorry i am no longer evaluating the Zoneminder application for my cameras. but i would try the path that was used in some of the older cams like \cgi-bin\video.jpg or something like that. search around and try all the paths you can find for dlinks cams. That's all the advice i can give you since it has been months since i was working with this software.
3410 Working well.

Setup the camera so that profile 1 is 30FPS @ 704x480 MPEG4 (2Mbps) I then configure a local time server... also I then change the admin password so that there is a complex password but avoiding things that break urls that encode user/pass such as (!@\/)....
Then configure ZoneMinder as like so for all cameras.
Source Remote
Protocol HTTP
Method Regexp
Hostname USER:PASSWORD@IPADDRESS
Port 80
Path /video/mjpg.cgi?profile=1
24 bit color
704
480
[then add timestamp label Y @ 480]
