Is there such a thing as a PoE router with 4+ ports and wifi?

I'm buying my first house, so I have crazy plans to do all sorts of automation and surveillance - cameras in every walkway, motion detecting this, motion detecting that, guns controlled over the web, etc. (This is a house in Texas. I'm only 1/2 kidding about the guns).

What I want to do is build an outdoor network of PoE cameras. I was thinking that they would be connected to a PoE switch, which would be plugged in. The switch would have 802.11, and act as a bridge to my main, indoor network.

In looking at equipment, I can't seem to find any wireless routers multi-port PoE switch with wifi. Does a wifi router with more than one PoE port exist? I've looked at Trendnet, Linksys, and D-Link. If this doesn't exist, I guess I'm looking at a generic wifi router with one ethernet port and a multiport PoE switch attached to it?

Perhaps you could look into purchasing a regulated DC power supply and providing your own PoE to your devices? I believe PoE utilises the spare cables in the cat5e arrangement to provide power to the device. This way, you could remove the transformer/rectifier that comes with the router (black power box that plugs into the socket outlet) and plug a DC supply straight into the router.

Make sure you know what voltage your device is though and be sure to check the polarities!

It would probably work out cheaper this way and provide you with a better range of networking products.

I believe you need the first option. If so...I haven't heard of any.

Voltage, great advice, but I'm not definitely not an electricity tinkerer
