Is it ZM 1.24.2 stable?

Hello, I had not good experiences with this new version maybe I am doing something wrong.
I am actualy using the last version of ZM 1.23.X without problems, but I would like to use the new magic features of 1.24.
One thing I am not really sure is how to setup the shared memory, I know that 1.24 has another type of processing of shared memory but I don't know how it works.
Could be perfect i some body wants to make a wiki of "shared memory", how to setup, why, caculates, etc... I saw a lot of posts here but nobody specify it clearly.
