Can I make a camera server only?

I'm new to ZM and want to start by running it in a VM.

I also have a camera connected to the Composite video input on another linux box (running Myth). I would like to make this a "camera server" only...leaving all processing to my VM running elsewhere.

Is this reasonable? I don't want to buy a net camera yet, and want to start with ZM in a VM.

Okay looks simple...and ZM can use that card as an input?

I didn't see an obvious answer to this one, but can the MJPEGstreamer also include audio from the camera in the strean?

Zm cant do audio but zm accepts mjpeg streams it work just fine for that

I run a Debian server and pass the PCI capture card I have to the DomU (virtual machine) using xen. I have an entire ZM install running in a virtual machine and I must say it works very well!

I didn't know Xen allows you to pass a PCI card to a VM. I use VMWare Server (free edition) and I can pass a USB device/Serial but not PCI devices (at least not last time I checked)

exactly why I chose to run xen on debian 'stable' lenny.

don't forget the swoitlb=force option if you're having issues with DMA.
