Question about format of "source - file device"

If I config zoneminder to get video from a file , what format should the file be?
Does a jpeg file work?

It has to be a path to a jpeg image only.

Hi!
This seems like a really interesting feature, but I'm not sure I got it right... ZM takes a jpeg image as it's source right? That means that it should be able to display whatever jpeg I put on the source path??
I can't manage to make it work
Could someone give me a little hint please?
This is my configuration
ZM: 1.24.1
Source Type: File
Function: Monitor
Source path: /home/chika_nidza/test.jpg
Capture Width: 350
Capture Height: 240
When I try to see the monitor, nothing happens (only a black screen).
Anyone uses this feature? Thanks in advance for your advice!!!

Ok, I got it to work. If anyone has the same problem - it seems that the problem was that image width/heigth didn't match the image resolution. After changing that and restarting ZM (maybe not necessary, but the monitor didn't show any image before I did that) everything works great!
