error cause PC crashes

list, I have centos 5.3_x64 bit, installed with two capturadortas Kodicom 8800, unso days after this leaving me the following rror in the console of my linux, eventually causing the system crach

From what I understand, this is a hardware error in your capture chip. Try a different chip (on the same card is OK) and see if the error goes away.

I also have had the same problem; in my case I cannot use bttv1 if I want the system to stay online. :?

It can happen for many reasons.

1) The chip bttv11 corresponds to might be defective, probably as a result of overheating. (Likely)
2) The chip bttv11 corresponds to might be overheating. (Very likely if it happens after a period)
3) An IRQ conflict with the chip bttv11 corresponds to. (Not likely)

I suggest you try a different chip(input) and please make sure to install heatsinks on the bt878 chips, they are known to run hot and not last long that way, which is probably what happend to yours.
Also make sure your case air flow is good.

I used these heatsinks on my kodicom 8800 clone, it doesn't cover all the chip but it was cheap, easy to install and better than nothing:
