Hello everybody,

I was looking around the forums and was needing some help, if anybody could assist me.

I currently use ZM at the school district I work for, I have 41 DSC-910 cameras up among the different campuses with two individual servers.

Which while I am on the topic they work great. They are not hard to configure and work fine.

But on a new quest of getting cameras up in our school district I have in the office several cameras that are "wireless" they have antennas but our "dome" and "ptz domes" but I have no idea on how to wire them.

If it helps I have a 4 port capture card on the server that I will be using for this one building that requires cameras on the outside.
The building will have a little dome that does not move that needs to be wireless and has a PTZ dome which looks like a beast.

The only problem being that I can't figure out how to get them connected to save my life.

I have a picture of the dome with the antenna's next to it, to see if anybody can offer me some help.

I know I have all the stuff I need just can't put it together.

I would like to get it set up on the ground and test it so I can have an idea for the rest of them and just be able to see how long the antennas can really go. It seems they will be Point2Point connection in a sense, one in and one out...Correct me if I am wrong.

Analog CCTV (wireless) typically operates on one of for 2.4ghz channels. You aren't going to be able to link 41 cameras in the same area.

You need to search video servers or switch to IP caameras.

I have 41 IP cameras up.

I only need to have 2 of these Analog CCTV cameras up in that area.

Sorry if it sounded like I wanted to put 41 one these up.

From the photo it looks like you've got a wired analog camera (not a DSC-910, nor a wireless camera) with a typical power plug and bnc for video.

Looking at the antennas, particularly the plugs, it looks like those antennas are intended for wireless Ethernet, which is a different (i.e. incompatible) technology than that which is used to transmit composite video wirelessly. This is just my guess based on the information you have provided. You can verify whether or not this is true by going to the website of the antenna & camera manufacturers.

Either way, I don't see how you will be able to get this to work w/o extra equipment as there does not appear to be a transmitter or a receiver shown in your photo.

If you want to stick with the camera in the photo then you could purchase an analog transmitter & receiver (which will come with its own antennas). You can find some real cheap ones on E-Bay, but don't expect them to work real well.

Another alternative would be to buy a video encoder (google IP Video 9100A) which will convert the signal to Ethernet and you could skip the wireless thing altogether... but that requires you to be within 300 feet of the nearest switch.

He's correct. You'll need a analog 2.4ghz wireless transmitter receiver specifically designed for CCTV applications. There are four frequencies these operate on...and don't expect these signals to be very good at all.

I have several of these. Is this what I need?

The antennas that I showed in the picture are the ones that came with those little white boxes. I take it I will need two, one at the camera and one at the antenna that feeds it to the server correct?
