lossless camera?

Are there any (non-AXIS) cameras that allow you to access the raw bitmap or tiff data from the camera? If not, do any allow lossless jpegs?

I'm currently looking into cameras and it seems really really brain dead to have a system where the camera uses a jpeg chip to compress the data as a jpeg then whats running zoneminder has to decompress it, sometimes without a floating point unit with the slow libjpeg algorithms. It would make sense to remove this task completely as it is done so much it's ridiculous. I'm running a cat6 network so I don't really care about bandwidth anyway, it's not like this would be going over wireless.

In fact, I don't see the need to compress the data at all if you have a large enough hard disk.
