II have been trying to solve the issue with my cam for more than a week now but with no success so far.

I have the Logitec QuickMessanger webcam and when I tried it with Skype and XawTV it works fine out of the box but not when I tried to add it to the Zoneminder interface. It always shows it in red color.

when I type the following command in the command line
zmu -d /dev/video0 -q -v

I get this

Error, failed to get channel 0 attributes: Invalid argument


what am I doing wrong?

Try running zmu as a privileged user, ie sudo

Thank you for your reply...same message even with sudo.

What do you get from v4linfo?
What do you have configured in ZM for the monitor as for palette, size, type, etc?
