anybody knows when or why it hasn't, the package for ubuntu being updated to 1.24.2 it seems to be the same maintainer from the Debian package, and said package is already at 1.24.2

at launchpad it seems that 1.24.2 for ubuntu, will be coming out with Lucid Lynx... but that seems quite far, for its release and perhaps being stable enough...

any thoughts?

deb http://zoneminder.bluecherry.net jaunty main

That's a Ubuntu (Jaunty) repository of Peter Howard's 1.24.2 packages
