starting zm fails

Upgraded form opensuse 11.1 to 11.2 recently and now I am running into problems starting zoneminder.
zmpkg.pl start gives no return, but rczm status gives 'unused'.
rczm start yields a 'failed'
in the log I find:
Unable to run "sudo -u wwwrun /usr/bin/zmfix", output is ""
wwwrun is the correct user as far as I know and executing the command directly gives no output but status remaines 'unused'

mother:/ # sudo -u wwwrun /usr/bin/zmfix
mother:/ # rczm status
Checking for service ZoneMinder unused
