No bootable device after installing Zmlarch

Post by MikeLynn »

I installed Zmlarch with all options by default in a new hard drive. During install i didn't receive any kind of error msg. The problem is I can't boot up from it. I turn on the pc and receive a msg saying "No bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key".
The disk is SATAII and is detected correctly by the bios.
I browsed the hard drive after installing and all the Zmlarch files are in there, the partitions were created indeed.
I tried with other hard drive which has windows installed and it does boot, so there is no problem with any bios setting.
I think the problem lies in the GRUB installation. I tried selecting both the default option of installing to MBR and the other to install to installation partition. Same error with both.
Can you help pls?

[FIXED] No bootable device after installing Zmlarch

Post by MikeLynn »

I fixed this problem by running "sudo gparted" (cause the link in menu does not work as it doesn't give root access to gparted) and then I setted the BOOT flag to the partition were /boot was.
I did this before with fdisk and didn't work, don't know why. Also Gparted reported that the partitions were formated with ext2 when in the installer it said ext4.
