Hi All,

I have just moved my 8-chip SAA7134 card to a new server with a quad-core Phenom II processor, to improve performance.

However, I am now getting weird problems with the monitors. The are randomly stoping/going black and the logs show

Code: Select all

Feb 17 12:19:32 sentry zmc_dvideo5[5866]: WAR [Capture failure, possible signal loss?: Input/output error]
Feb 17 12:19:32 sentry zmc_dvideo5[5866]: ERR [Failed to capture image from monitor 7 (0/1)]
Feb 17 12:19:32 sentry zmdc[11415]: ERR ['zmc -d /dev/video5' exited abnormally, exit status 255]
I have had this card working using the same settings for many months but in a single-core server.

Also the httpd logs show

Code: Select all

[Wed Feb 17 12:19:31 2010] [error] [client 192.168.1.157] socket_sendto( /tmp/zms-948775s.sock ) failed: No such file or directory, referer: http://192.168.1.244/zm/index.php?view=montage&group=1
[Wed Feb 17 12:19:31 2010] [error] [client 192.168.1.157] array (\n  0 => \n  array (\n    'file' => '/var/www/html/zm/ajax/stream.php',\n    'line' => 55,\n    'function' => 'ajaxError',\n    'args' => \n    array (\n      0 => 'socket_sendto( /tmp/zms-948775s.sock ) failed: No such file or directory',\n    ),\n  ),\n  1 => \n  array (\n    'file' => '/var/www/html/zm/index.php',\n    'line' => 116,\n    'args' => \n    array (\n      0 => '/var/www/html/zm/ajax/stream.php',\n    ),\n    'function' => 'require_once',\n  ),\n), referer: http://192.168.1.244/zm/index.php?view=montage&group=1
Any advice/help woudl be appreciated - or just a pointer as to what I should look for.

Thanks in advance
Phil.[/code]

i have same chipset as u, and have same problem as u have... exit 255. i tryed to solve it but no luck, error still apears in logs. what i did was put MAX_RESTART_DELAY to 1. and now works ok, (the error its still there but when the monitor dies it starts it up rly fast) all seems ok. no more red sources. cheers maybe this helps

Hi

This was over a year ago - so my memory is a little vague :-)

If I remember correctly it ended up being a memory issue - I know I ended up having to add more memory to the server.

The server has been running with very few issues since then, the cheap SAA7134 cards cause some very weird errors.

I stil have issues with the card dropping one fo the inputs with IRQ errors after a few days, but te other 7 work so that has been OK for me.

Phil.
