Hey guys,
Im switching my dvt cameras over to IP and I was wondering if anyone has used
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.29918 camera with Zoneminder.
I presume it works as the wiki says:
For Network Cams to work they need to be able to stream MJPEG without the requirement of activex controls.
But I'm after some reassurance as I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to these things and dont want to waste money.
Thanks

Hi,
I have one of this installed at home, it works perfectly with ZM. Their app is based in ActiveX, but you could still configure/acess to it using cgi commands. I have the CGI manual and the configuration to work with ZM, feel free to ask for it.

So I though I'd check ebay before I Ordered and saw this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FOSCAM-WIFI-IP-CA ... 4180wt_782
About the same price as the other one (I am uk), but does anyone have experience of this camera? I know the wiki does support its PT foscam version.
Again thanks for the help.

Hi,
Once you have the cameras, if you find any problem setting them up, send me a private message, I could send you my configuration.

Well ignore my last post, it seems that it is now working. I did a full system restart and it started working. Weird really as I did try restarting the zoneminder demon. But hay!
Thanks for all the support anyway guys.

can anyone help me out with this camera i'm running 1.24.1 i can only get this camera to stay active about 1min and then it goes red. It does this on wireless and hard wired but it does take longer to go red on ethernet. Also when in wireless mode this camera can be accessed by both ip address wifi & lan even though it is only connected to wireless. here is a link to the camera if anyone wants to try it or look.

Hi,
Try capturing at lower FPS, like 5 fps and 320x240, to see if it improves the performance. I have one of this cameras installed with the latest fw and works perfect!.
See this link for info:
http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Maygion
And this direct link for the fw update:
http://www.maygion.com/ , but yours looks like it has a newer fw not published yet in their web. Mine reports : var sw_ver='vs2.0(01.24.2010)'
Look for the wifiChannel setting, I have better ping time responses when matches with the setting in the router.
