Zm web address

Hi all,

Got ZM 124 up and running great on Ubuntu 9.04...

Is there anyway of making the ZM console accessible from something like www.staticip/anything instead of www.staticip ?

123 seemed to be fine with www.staticip/zm but when I went to 124 its now back to www.staticip

I want to move it off the root... if you know what I mean

use name virtual host in apache and you can have any name you want
that is the only way

I accomplished that by modifying the /etc/zm.conf file. Just make sure that httpd.conf is configured to allow access to where ever you put it.

antar, is there any chance you could elaborate a little for me? I've bee accessing apache thru webmin and played with the virtual host settings. At present zomeminder is on the default host. How would i set it up so i could have my website running on www.myip.com and zm on www.myip/zm?

diven, could you elaborate a little on what you posted too please ?

I understand I can have as many virtual hosts as I want within reason? Is this right? Just not too sure how to set things up.

You should have a directory something like /var/www/htdocs which is your web server root. Add a directory named zm and put all the zm files in there.

Edit /etc/zm.conf to read:
# Path to ZoneMinder web files
ZM_PATH_WEB=/var/www/htdocs/zm

I don't use Ubuntu so I can't comment on the file structure or the default apache config but it should be similar.

A virtual host is for adding an additional hostname to your web server.
