Hi Everyone,

I've got a new install of ZoneMinder. Apache serves up the initial php scripts normally and the console appears normal. My capture card usually appears intermittently green if I switch the device number between 0 and 1. When the capture card is green and the the system is in monitor/record mode, I can see stills refreshed about every 5 sec as per setup config. Selecting streaming gives me the broken picture symbol.

Examination of various logs reveals that I am badly broken. I'm over my head and would sure appreciate wiser heads taking a look. This app appears to have everything I need and I would love to see it work. Below are some of my logs:

The most important log is probably /var/log/messages but this one

leapt out. Do you (a) have mysql running and (b) have the above file? Sometimes you need to symlink the mysql.sock file from where it really is, to where it needs to be. The other main error

Can't locate MIME/Entity.pm in @INC

is only a filter error (ie. secondary) but can be fixed by installing the MIME::Entity perl module as per the README.

It does appear that mysql is running and the mysql.sock is where it's supposed to be:

I'll get that perl module installed asap. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure what a '=' on the end of the sock file means but it looks a bit odd. Can you just use mysql off the command line, do that work as per

mysql zm -u<username> -p<password>

Also what distro etc are you using?
