Panasonic BL-C131A ZM Setup Issue

Post by crankycameras »

I am in the process of adding IP cameras throughout my house. While they will be several different makes / models, the one I have in hand at this time is a Panasonic BL-C131A.

I am attempting to use this cam with ZM 1.24.2 on an Ubuntu 9.10 server. The ZM install went well for the most part and the ZM console seems to be running properly.

I tried several different methods of adding the Panasonic cam without success. This includes probing the camera, which resulted in error 127. The most progress I've made so far is trying the preset "Panasonic IP PTZ, 640x480, jpeg". When I open the monitor after assigning ip/port values to the preset, I am rewarded with a snapshot of the cam (which I neglected to mention is working fine under its stock webpage). The issue is, after about 3-4 seconds the image disappears and changes to the "Broken Image" icon.

I have searched the forum and have been unable to find an error similar to mine (not to say it doesn't exist). I am open to any suggestions.

Thanks!

The camera itself is functioning properly and as such, has an empty error log. It does show a number of successful connections, however does not elaborate beyond that.

As far as ZM goes:

zmaudit.log = emtpy

zmdc.log =

Code: Select all

guess the cam is somehow similar to the BLC1, look at my post at

http://www.zoneminder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15406

also check your shared memory settings - typically if the allocated memory is too small it works for a few seconds till the mem is full and then malfunctions - sometimes even without a useful error message

you'll see that there are many posts about the memory issues
